Mongolia - Youth Entrenet


KAB began in Mongolia at the start of 2007 when training materials were adapted and translated into Mongolian. In August,2007, the first training workshop for was held for 24 Facilitators, Trainers and Promoters from secondary and vocational institutions located in 12 provinces around the country. Post-training 20 participating institutions pilot tested KAB in the 2007-2008 school year, reaching around 1,124 students. The following school year, another 900 students were reached with KAB.

The Mongolian Employers' Federation (MONEF) and the ILO organiyed a Forum of KAB trainers, in November of `08 to coordinate efforts, collect data and assess the impacts of the pilot tests. Collaboration among the implementing institutions, and a discuss of possibily rolling out the the pilot exercise to the next academic year, and eventually nationally, was also included in the goals of the form.  A strategy has been developed to train 600 facilitators of secondary schools in 2009. Currently, there are a total of 24 Facilitators, Trainers and Promoters trained and 20 participating institutions having delivered KAB to 2,024 students.
