Under the framework of the ILO project with the Business Development Centre (BDC) that aims to promote entrepreneurship education in Jordan, the pilot phase continues to introduce the KAB programme in secondary vocational schools in partnership with the Ministry of Education.

The 6-day training (Part one of KAB) took place on August 22-27 in Amman, with the aim of introducing the KAB curriculum to 29 teachers, from 14 secondary vocational schools and one community college, pre-selected by Jordan’s Ministry of Education. The workshop was facilitated by KAB International Key Facilitator (IKF) Rania Bikhazi and National Key Facilitator (NKF) from Palestine Mr. Abdullah El Silawi.

The workshop was attended by 28 participants (7 women and 21 men) who showed a high level of participation and commitment and were enthusiastic about the new teaching methods. Participants applied “learning by doing teaching methodology” whereby all participants gave a micro teaching session from the KAB package and were evaluated on it (teaching techniques and content). Participants used the various KAB teaching techniques such as presentations, games, brainstorming sessions, group work, and role play and brought in guest speakers to facilitate the different types of sessions. Modules 1 through 5 were covered in the training.

Upon completion of the training, KAB facilitators will begin teaching the curriculum to students in secondary vocational schools in coordination with BDC and the Ministry of Education who will implement monitoring and follow up visits.

Part Two of the training is expected to take place beginning of 2016 after facilitators have completed implementing phase 1 with their students.
