Under the framework of the ILO/UNESCO project entitled “Expansion of the KAB programme in Kurdistan targeting students enrolled in vocational education institutions and unemployed youth graduates of TVET” the second KAB follow-up workshop targeting the teachers working under the MoLSA was held from 6-8 July 2013 and was attended by the same 12 participants who attended the first refresher in June 2013.

The opening session was attended by Mr. Khalid Khoshnaw, UNESCO National Programme Officer in Erbil, Mr. Samih Jaber and Mr. Wael Ghosn, KAB workshop facilitators. During the workshop, the KAB teachers presented their final KAB reports and the business plans prepared by the KAB trainees. The KAB teachers completed teaching the KAB programme to 245 trainees over 120 hours using the KAB training methodology. All KAB trainees, except one, prepared their business plans during the implementation of the programme.

A special session was allocated for the review of the business plan by the teachers. They were provided with a guiding form for the business plan evaluation and it was agreed that they would sign every plan checked as supervisors of the job.

The KAB teachers’ reports were well prepared. They highlighted successes, difficulties, challenges faced and how they dealt with them. Discussions were initiated after each participant’s presentation to exchange lessons learned and good practices. The presentations served as a good platform for KAB experience sharing and knowledge dissemination.

At the end of the workshop, certificates of attendance were prepared and distributed to the participants by the ILO Enterprise Development Specialist.
