It is with great sadness that we wish to inform the KAB community of the recent passing away of Mr. Arthur Gitonga from Kenya. He passed away on August 29th and was put to rest on Saturday, September 8th, 2012.

Arthur while professor at the Kenyatta University was an enthusiastic and dynamic KAB Regional Key Facilitator who had been involved with the programme since its very beginnings back in the early 1990’s in Kenya. Since then, he helped introduce KAB in Botswana, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Nigeria and Tanzania.

Arthur was a firm believer in the power of training trainers to support and sustain the programme. As a key facilitator, a trainer, a promoter, and more importantly as a close and dear friend of the KAB programme, he will be greatly missed.

We in the KAB coordination team wish to send our heartfelt condolences to his wife Esther and his children.

We invite all of those interested to read the last interview we did with Arthur back in July 2011 where he wrote a little about his views and experiences of the KAB programme:
